Great blender. BLACK+DECKER BL1400DG-P Quiet
BLACK+DECKER BL1400DG-P Quiet Stainless Steel Blender with Cyclone Glass CupThis is a wonderful blender! I have used an $800 Blendtec quiet blender but it only lasted 3 years. I have used a Breville powerful blender but it was very noisy and also stopped working way too soon. I needed one immediately so bought this B&D for the interim. But when I started using it I decided that this will do and there was no need to buy a much more expensive blender, especially given that the expensive ones stopped working in such a short amount of time. I use this one to make smoothies that include hard items like raw carrots (which I cut into slices) and ice cubes. When I use the smoothie setting this B&D does not blend it into a smooth drink. Instead the food still is in non-smoothie chunks that are unpleasant. However, after I use the smoothie button, that stops automatically, I wait 10 seconds and then start the blender again using the button labeled 3, which does not stop automatically. After this second blending for just a minute or two, it is a perfect smoothie for me. The instructions that came with the blender seem to suggest that this longer period of blending is not good for the blender. However, I figure that the lower price of this B&D blender makes it more economical even if it burns out from long use times. I have only had it for a month or so, thus I cannot speak to how long it will last with heavy daily use. I love that it has a glass cup. The cover is a disappointment since it is a hard plastic with no rubber to hold it into place. However, the top fits well and does not leak, if you have the two doors closed tight. I find it to be about average in noise level for blenders. But like any blender or noisy kitchen appliance, I wear noise cancelling headphones when in use.

BEST ON THE MARKET!!!!
LOVE IT!!!We have owned many blenders (Oster and Ninja) over the years. This blender is fabulous. First of all, it is very easy to clean. You don’t have to deal with the silicone rings that are breeding grounds for mold (Ninja). Use it, rinse and hand wash, air dry and repeat. The top, as some have said is a bit tight when new. Easy fix – just soak it in very hot water and let air dry. It’s a hard plastic so needs time to be broken in. The pouring spouts are great. Blender leaked on first use, but that was my fault as I turned the pitcher to remove from base.. DO NOT DO THAT.. just lift it straight up off the base. The motor is very quiet compared to other blenders. I can make a morning smoothie without waking everyone in the house. Actually, I can make my smoothie the night before, in the pitcher and put it in any container. Milk, yogurt, frozen fruit, and banana hardly separate. If it does it’s just 1/4″. Shake it up and you’re good to go. We’ve made soup, shakes, smoothies, veg/fruit juice in it. All good. We have weddings coming up this summer and will surely consider this blender to be a gift.

Not particularly quiet but it’s one of the best blenders I’ve owned. We use it daily for smoothies and sauces and it works amazingly well!

So far, so good. I’ve used the blender a few times now and it’s blended well, no leaks. It is taller than I expected. It’s a bit noisy, but come on, it’s a blender. I will say that it is much quieter than my old Hamilton Beach blender. I didn’t think I would use the cup attachment, but it is actually quite handy.

I’ve had the blender for 2 months and it is not working properly. It would not turn at first, then when I pressed the power button it was on the fastest setting, even though I had not chosen any speed or other specialized setting (smoothie, milkshake, etc).Now it randomly powers itself on when plugged in.Also when it did work, if you chose the highest speed it would spin the pitcher right off the baseThis is the worst blender I’ve ever owned and I’ve owned many over the years.

Powerful and Quiet
This blender is impressive. It has plenty of power to handle smoothies, ice, and thicker mixes, yet it runs much quieter than most blenders I have owned. The cyclone glass cup feels sturdy and cleans up easily without holding onto odors or stains. A solid choice if you want something reliable, durable, and less noisy in the kitchen.

Esta licuadora es muy buena, los accesorios y todo en general es de buena calidad, muele de todo y si batallas con algo solo presiona el boton “pulse/stop” y luego licua con la velocidad que necesitas. Me pareció tan buena que regale una similar a mi mamá.El único pero que también noté con la licuadora de mi mamá es que se pierden la tapitas. Hay que quitarlas para lavar bien la tapa porque tiene mucho “rinconcitos” donde se guarda la comida, entonces en mi caso y en el de mi mamá se nos perdieron las tapitas, pero considero que eso es más descuido personal, solo lo comento para que lo tomen en cuenta. Pero recomiendo 100% está licuadora, yo quería una ninja pero esta no le pide nada, está a mejor precio y además sus refacciones son más fáciles de conseguir en cualquier ferretería. Aún no he necesitado pero es algo que considere al cómprala.

Definitely a quieter machine, though large, frozen fruit will still be rather noisy when making the first part of a smoothie. There is a”smoothie” function that works very well, as well as a couple of others that I’ve yet to try. The base is heavy and solid, making tipping highly unlikely. The jar is made of heavy glass and the machine seems very well constructed overall. I’ve used this for making the ubiquitous smoothie, but also for summer soups like gazpacho, whipping updater and today, I used the blender to chop up onions and carrots for pea soup! I added water to the blender, then quarter onions and then baby carrots instead of doing this by hand and emptied the contents into the slow cooker with split peas for a great soup. For me, an efficient and hard-working blender such as this excellent one is a staple in the kitchen. I highly recommend this unit.

We had a Ninja before and spent more than I care to admit only for it to maybe last 1 1/2 years, so we thought we’d try something different. This was SIGNIFICANTLY quieter, and I wasn’t constantly cutting myself on the cone blades. I love that all pieces are dishwasher safe (all plastic top rack only)!My only feedback would be, I underestimated how small the pitcher was, I feel like the ninja held 30% more but that’s kinda on me. The lid doesn’t sit very nicely in the pitcher either, it’s a super tight fit. Otherwise I’d give it 5 starsEdit 6 months in: pretty sure it’s going to die soon, and it doesn’t work well at all any more. I constantly have to push everything down to the bottom and run it several times to just to get somewhat of an even blend. I will not be purchasing again.
