Great convenient storage/hydration options
The Sahara Sailor Running Vest is a very comfortable way to carry your hydration and small items (ID, keys, cash) while running or hiking. The meshed and textured surface keeps you well ventilated and the elastic cording makes this adjustable to fit a wide range of builds, male and female. Once you adjust the elastic cords for a nice snug fit, the vest is very easy to take on and off due to the two nylon quick attach-detach clips on the front of the vest without having to re-adjust any of the cords. The cording keeps the adjusted vest from bouncing around under movement letting you concentrate on your run and not on keeping your items from jostling around. As you can see from my photos, the vest has two zippered horizontal pockets (one of each side), a larger zippered camel back type storage space on the back, and four additional non-zippered pockets on the front (two on each side with two of them featuring corded elastic sliders to keep your hydration bottles in place on each side). Speaking of which, the vest comes complete with two 500ml soft silicone elastic bladder style flasks. Some relatively small reflective markers are sewn into both front and back of the vest for greater visibility when dark, but the reflector on the back could be much larger IMHO. The other criticism is that when the flasks are partially deflated, it is very difficult to get them to fully/neatly seat into their designated bottle pockets. It is easier to place the into their pockets when they are fulling inflated/filled, but if you have occasion to remove them from their pockets to take a drink, it will not be so easy to replace them into place while running as they do not just slide back in when partially deflated (like a plastic water bottle would). OTOH, because they deflate as you drink from them, they will not jostle around like the water in a partially filled plastic water bottle would. Overall, this is a very good value for the price and is quite practical for keeping stuff out of your pants/shorts pockets where they will jangle around, but rather on your upper body where everything is more stable with a more favorable weight distribution.

sizing is pretty close, excellent construction, good pouches, wears well
So my chest measures about 41” and I ordered a medium. In hindsight a large may have been slightly better. Your preference may vary though and this size makes it a bit more minimalist in fit and bulk. The elastic does have plenty of space to grow. Speaking of elastic, the front loop ends up with a lot of extra just hanging there and there isn’t a great way to stow it built in. I just sort of found I could jam it into the hooks and it mostly stays put. It’s not a terrible thing, but a mild oversight. The materials and build quality are very nice overall! The material breathes well and generally is designed well for ventilation. The reflective bits seem to do their task, but you may prefer more of them depending on your general environment for use. The zippers are super smooth and easy to operate. The pouches all work very well and the elastic retention tops are good. My Pixel6 Pro fits the front vertical pouch in front of the bladder pouch, but sticks out the top a bit. It just barely fits in the front zipper pouch in a horizontal orientation. The phone (with case) measures 6-¾”x3-¼”. The pouches are plenty of space for keys, phone, and maybe a few snacks if so inclined.Something I do not see referenced anywhere is that the pouch on the back isn’t just a stuff pouch for a poncho, extra shirt, or other things you may need. It also clearly is designed for a water bladder to fit. There is a hanging loop inside at the top with a nice clip. There are left and right side drink tube tunnels out of the pouch and shoulder loops for the tube. The back pouch is divided into two segments, one is a breathable mesh against your back where the bladder would go and there’s a polyester divider keeping the bladder away from whatever you put in the main area. The hydration bladder pouch is about 7×11”. The main pouch is the same height and width, but of course will fill outward a few inches if you stuff it. You might get up to four inches of overall thickness, including a bladder, into the pouch comfortably. Overall I think it’s excellent for forty bucks.

Feature-rich hydration vest with great storage
This hydration vest is a surprising deal for the price. While it is heavier than some name-brand options at 9.8 oz (empty with both bottles) and the material feels a bit coarser and hotter, it includes several high-end features. The vest is highly adjustable with elastic cord systems at the front chest and both sides. The inner circumference at the bottom ranges from about 30 inches at the smallest to 41 inches at the largest (unstretched). There is no adjustability at the shoulders. The shoulder straps are 3 inches wide. The arm holes are very generous. If you have to tighten the cords all the way, there isn’t a great place to tuck in the excess.Storage is impressive. The front features 7.5-inch deep bottle pockets, 5.75-inch deep elastic pockets, and 7-inch deep zippered pockets that extend partially around the sides. The back has a large zipper pocket (14 inches tall by 7 7/8 inches wide) with two internal compartments. It easily holds a 1.5-liter reservoir (not included) and has a reservoir hanger at the top, which is a nice touch. The back length from the top of the shoulder to the bottom is 16.5 inches, so it may not work well for short-waisted people. The back also features an open-ended “tunnel” pouch (3.75 inches tall by 6 7/8 inches wide) for stashing a jacket or trekking poles.I was between sizes and chose the medium, but it ended up being too big to get a secure fit. If you are between sizes, size down.[Actual weight: 9.8 oz with bottles][Back length: 16.5″][Back pocket: 14″ x 7 7/8″][Tunnel pouch: 3.75″ x 6 7/8″][Shoulder strap width: 3″][Bottle pocket depth: 7.5″][Elastic pocket depth: 5.75″][Front zipper pocket depth: 7″][Circumference: 30″ – 41″]A great find for a runner on a budget.
