Good product, secure, minimal bounce

Good product, secure, minimal bounce
Excellent running belt, helps with marathon training without aid stations Comfortable, secure, I like it better than the Nathan running vests I used previously and it doesn't leave weird tan lines on my chest/back Update, bought in March, now it's mid July, the mesh fabric in back has multiple holes and I'm afraid my phone or other items are going to fall out. With Duro in the name, and the price, I expected more endurance. Reduced from 5 stars to 2

I just got this and have used it once, but I'm very happy with it. I have used other running hip packs that say you're supposed to wear around the hips, but they never stay there. Once I got this one situated and comfortable, it stayed at my hip level for my 2.5 mile run. I have a 5 mile race coming up, so I'll see how well it does then, but I'm not worried based on how great it was today. I used only one of the bladders due to the short nature of my run, and it worked great. I didn't drink while running, so I did not have to test getting it in and out of the holder. However, I can see that I would have to twist the pack around to my front to do so. This does not bother me. I also like the size of the pocket. I put my phone in the large pouch and there's a separate pocket that I could put my keys into so my keys won't scratch the phone. I had no bounce while running. There seems to be plenty of room for a small first aid kit for trail use and it has a small whistle. Everything is great so far and this pack solves all my previous pack problems.

It may be me, but I found the small, flexible bottles too difficult to put back into their slots in the back as they emptied. Had to stop running to make sure they were secure. I think that difficulty led me to not drink as much as I should have!

I bought this pack for my wife for running, but I have to admit I've stollen it a few times for myself. It's suprisingly comfortable while running. The narrow belt does a good job hugging your hips and keeping the pack in place without digging into your body. I've used it on several 3 mile runs and have no issue with any discomfort. It breathes extremely well and has a good central pocket that can hold a large phone, headphone case, and any other essentials you might need while out. I really like the soft flasks as I can't even tell if they press against your body at all since they conform as needed. My one small issue is it can be tricky to get a water flask back into the belt and secure it with the loop while running, but it can be done using both hands. Overall I'm very impressed with the product for our use care and the quality. I hope to find some additional water flasks that will fit in the pack to cut down on washing them after every run.

    Pros:
    Comfortable
    Breathes well
    Doesn't bounce while running

    Cons:
Tricky getting the soft flasks in the belt and secured

I have been a fan of Osprey products for a while, so expectations were on the high side for this item…but I am happy to sat that it definitely met and exceeded them all the way around.

Here are some things I love about it:

    1. It's very comfortable. I mostly abhor fanny packs because I feel like people are lying when they say that you barely notice it's there, etc and so on LOL. This one made me rethink that stance as it's the first one I have put on where it didn't annoy me in the first 5 minutes I had it on because it's so comfy and moves with you.

    2. It's breathable. It's made of !00% mesh, so you don't feel quite so sweaty and gross when you are active with this on, unlike the regular canvas fanny packs where this is generally an issue for me.

    3. It holds a lot of stuff! The main pocket has space for your phone, earbuds case, keys, wallet..and much more.

    4. The belt is a bit more narrow than your average fanny pack, which is probably why it's so comfy…and it adjusts very well. You can tuck the excess material in with ease, too, so it's not flapping around annoying you.

    5. The bladders hold quite a bit of water…though a tip: rinse them out well before using them, because they are made of plastic that's malleable – so the water can taste plastic-ish the first time out.

Worth noting that the bladders are a good size themselves…easy to put into the bag even when they are full since they aren't rigid.

    7. Nice construction that is sure to make this bag hang around for a long time and hold up to whatever I throw as it.

Now folks, let's not ignore the fact that this is a $65 fanny pack. And that seems like a lot. However, if you have ever owned an Osprey pack or any of their other products, you know that they are exceptionally well made products that LAST. So is it worth it? A resounding YES.

Even though this is probably going to appeal to runners/joggers, it would actually work well for hiking and tons of other activities. It would make a great gift, too. I highly recommend this item!

I didn’t know how to rate this-I won’t be running in this again but to use on a walk? Sure, maybe. The straps that connect in my midsection are pretty uncomfortable, even over the shirt. They are surprisingly thin for such a big bag. My phone weighs the whole thing down and there’s plenty of bounce no matter how tight I pulled the straps. Lots of room for gels/blocks/etc and I love the little side pockets-perfect for keys, salt tabs, etc . I want to love this! Soft flasks have held up fine for me, just the second they get lighter, the straps need to be adjusted again. 3 hours post a long hot & humid run, it’s still soaking wet. I think maybe I asked too much of this but for the price I was really expecting more.
