Ok for the price
I have a larger phone that is approximately 7″ diagonally with the case on and this mount was able to hold it well, with a little room to spare.Note the indoor pictures turned out a little skewed on the color. The items truly appear black like the pictures of it mounted on the bike.My use case is for a mountain bike… so nothing high speed. Also, I should mention that I tested this on a slightly tapered handlebar. I haven’t gone on any long-distance rides yet (just coming out of winter), but the roads where I’m at are very bumpy… so it’s really testing out how secure it is.The plastic used seemed adequate for the job. The arms that hold the phone are as follows… Bottom is Fixed. Sides are adjustable, but do not have spring tension on it (you keep them in place by a thumbscrew on back). Top is adjustable and does have a decent amount of spring tension (which can also be locked in with a similar thumbscrew as the sides). The shocks itself seemed to be a little stiff as I was getting a bit more movement than another mount I have.It took a bit of torque to keep it snug on the tapered handlebars… they seemed to stay at the final torque… but I don’t know that I would go any tighter on them as it seemed to be at the limit.I did have an issue with the ball joint though. The inside of the joint was polished, and the ball was plastic (no rubber coating)… so with my heavy phone and the ‘large’ bumps on ‘after winter’ roads caused the mount to droop after a while (where the shaft bottomed out on the collar). I did tighten it as much as I could and it still wasn’t quite enough, so I just tilted it so the ball pin would rest on the collar and not move. I may try to add something to the joint to stiffen it up more. Note that if you really tighten that collar, it is very hard to loosen. What I liked was the mounting method allowed the camera’s to see forward… so I could record if wanted. The item shipped in a plain white box, but each part was wrapped individually. So in the end… -1 star for the ball mount. Construction vs Price was a wash.

Solid Tech for the Trails
I picked up this dual vibration dampener mount for my bicycle because I was tired of my phone rattling like a loose heat shield every time I hit a bump. Taking my daughters, 11 and 13, out for a ride usually means I’m the one navigating or keeping track of the time, so I needed something that wouldn’t let my screen become a blurred mess. This mount holds onto the handlebars with a grip that feels like it’s never going to budge, which is exactly what I want when I’m out on the path. The vibration dampening is the standout feature here. It actually manages to soak up the high-frequency jitters that usually make a phone camera sensor fail over time. The build quality is rugged and doesn’t feel like a cheap piece of plastic that will snap the first time it gets cold out. I like the security of the upgrade clip; it’s beefy enough to stay put without needing constant readjustment. On the downside, the mount is a bit bulky. It takes up a fair amount of real estate on the bars, which might be an issue if you’re running a bunch of other accessories like lights or a bell. It also takes a second longer to get the phone locked in compared to the simpler spring-loaded versions, but that’s a trade-off I’m willing to make for the extra stability.I’m giving this a 5-star rating because the value for the money is clear once you see it in action. Even though it costs a bit more than the basic holders, it’s a lot cheaper than replacing a broken smartphone. It does the job it was built for without any fuss, and it feels like it’ll outlast the bike itself.

Built Like a Tank! The Best Phone Mount I’ve Used
This thing is a tank! I’ve used a few of these mounts for bikes and motorcycles, and this one actually seems robust enough to handle long-term use. The build is substantial and looks like it would easily protect your phone even if it gets bumped in a fall. It features a built-in “suspension” system with a genuinely useful range of compression, and it feels stiff enough to effectively dampen out road vibrations.Three screws fix the top and side arms firmly in place, and the rubberized handlebar clamp feels incredibly secure. The only minor downsides worth mentioning are that it looks a bit oversized on my e-bike, and the side clamps can’t be adjusted up or down (they land right on my phone’s volume buttons). It also looks like it can accommodate fairly large phones. Overall, this is the best item of its kind I’ve ever used!
