Our double-welded seams add extra durability. Each of the seams of the three air chambers is sealed with double welds creating a stronger and more durable cushion than a single weld.

People have a personal preference for their cushion. Therefore, in designing Air Meditator, the single air chamber from the first prototype was split into three, making it adjustable so that anyone who uses it would have personalized comfort. The three chambers also add stability, keeping the air from moving back and forth, when the cushion is not fully inflated. If you want a tall cushion, inflate it fully; if you prefer a cushion with less height, simply remove some air until it reaches your perfect size.

Cozy Cushion
I’ve used this cushion on several long meditation retreats (5-10 days), using it for maybe 4-5 hours per day before rotating it out with other cushions. I have found the cushion to be very stable and comfortable. In fact, I was surprised to feel how stable it is at all sorts of levels of inflation. I never once felt like it was any less stable than a buckwheat cushion. I also never felt like I was rocking back and forth or side to side like it was some sort of inflatable pool toy. It doesn’t make plastic-y noises or anything.Inflating and deflating are extremely simple and intuitive. There’s three one-way valves that keeps air in unless you press the valve in for a release. It takes no time at all.I do personally find that a fully inflated cushion is a bit much for me. Maybe it feels too full and hard, maybe too high. I had a lot of luck deflating each of the three compartments about 20%. Sometimes I like the middle compartment to be a bit less inflated than the sides. If you play around with it, you will find a height and hardness that works well with you.This might be advertised as a traveling cushion but it definitely works as an every day cushion too. I used it at home for several months and it was great. It’s very high quality and comfort.

Best travel cushion I’ve found
I have been using this inflatable zafu for years. I just bought a replacement after I gave mine away to a friend. I have tried many other travel solutions for meditation and none compares (at least if cross-legged is your meditation posture of choice) The three different compartments allow for customization. For instance, as I age, my right knee is a bit stiff. I can inflate that side a bit more than the rest to provide added support to that bad knee. The valves allow for very easy and complete deflation so it takes up very little space when traveling. I have taken it backpacking, snowshoeing, dog sledding, and about everywhere else and it has always held up. Years ago I bought one with a faulty valve and customer service was EXCELLENT. A replacement was provided promptly and courteously. I often use this cushion even at home where I have more traditional buckwheat zafus available. Sometimes I just prefer the way this one feels. I have been meditating for over 40 years and have not found a portable meditation solution that can match this.

Comfy but leaks
Works well when you have the inflation evenly balanced (which takes a little trial and error), but as others have noted it does leak from day to day. Also kind of difficult to fully deflate for packing when I travel. Could be great somehow it’s poorly executed.

Solid Product with Room for Improvement
Overall the Air Meditator is comfortable to sit on and far better than most of the other portable lightweight options I considered. The main cushion has plenty of air to avoid bottoming out; the forward tilt is great for sitting upright; and the side cushions provide some nice support for the legs.I haven’t used it long enough to judge its long-term durability but I (a 235-lb man) was able to sit for an hour without any issues.My biggest complaint is that the air valves are fiddly and there are three of them, making it rather difficult to completely deflate. I think Thermarest-style valves would be an improvement.Getting the product back in its travel pouch was an exercise in absurdity, making the pouch a waste of plastic. I suspect a lot of people will just throw it away. I can only hope it will get easier with practice.

Fantastic Customer Service and great product
We’ve gone through 3 of these over the years, mainly because the first generation was prone to irritating leaks (that could be repaired easily enough with Aquaseal). First saw them being used by a Shambhala Meditation Instructor who was very pleased. THIS NEW DESIGN IS MUCH BETTER for those of you who might have given up on them. Vastly improved valves, smarter chamber design, better seams.Best part of these is the customer service, though. When this last one just leaked I sadly called the company and Scott immediately said “just send me the order number and I’ll send you a new one – go ahead and patch the old one if you want.” WHO DOES THAT ANYMORE?Seriously, if you meditate for hours a day during a retreat, or even for less than an hour at home, consider getting one of these. Your butt and lower back will thank you – nothing else even comes close except perhaps a cloud bench with a heavy cushion and ankle support, which at Samadhi cushion will run you 5X what these cost – and who wants to carry all that gear to retreat centers? these suckers just deflate, go in the bag, and you’re done.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Just don’t use them sitting on cactus or sharp rocks …. 😉

Most comfortable meditation cushion ever
I’m getting older and can’t sit in a comfortable meditation posture without height. This cushion supports me perfectly. It is just the right height, supports my thighs at just the right angle, allowing me to have perfect posture for a comfortable meditation. Because it’s inflatable, it’s portable and I can deflate it a bit to store it under the bed. It’s also VERY easy to inflate. I prefer this to any other type of cushion. I’m very pleased with this item. I really like its adjustability and the fact that the sections inflate to different heights. Makes a world of difference in comfort and “stay-a-bility”.

Great for meditating on the go
I took this inflatable cushion with me recently on a spiritual pilgrimage to India. There were no meditation cushions available (and certainly no chairs!) at the ashrams and other locations I visited where I wanted to meditate. While this item is not exactly small, it IS portable, easy to inflate on the spot, comfortable, fast to deflate and overall inconspicuous. It seems durable, but I have only used it for a few weeks so far. If you need a cushion to meditate (versus sitting directly on the floor or in a rocky cave), this is a terrific portable, packable option.

Great idea, but immediately got a leak after the first use. Needs to be more durable for the cost.

I have used this cushion daily for over a year. Sitting cross legged was a real challenge for me and this cushion certainly helped. Unfortunately the center section has started to leak so now I need to inflate it daily. Otherwise it’s been great

I loved this cushion! It took off all pressure from backside and legs and meant my legs were not falling asleep or getting pins and needles whilst meditating anymore. However, after only 10 months of using the product one of the inflatable cells had a leak and was deflating completely. I was unable to find the leak, and suspect it is in the seams and not visible. I am waiting to hear from the manufacturer about a replacement of refund.

It arrived just before my overseas meditation retreat. It’s made with very good quality material that looks sturdy and durable. The air outlet has a unique design that makes inflation (by mouth) and deflation easy. You can adjust the softness / height by amount of air pumped into the chambers.I am now using it as my main meditation cushion as the design takes the pressure off my ankles and knees, and the tilted angle for my tailbone allows me to sit upright more effortlessness, hence enabling longer and deeper meditation.The only down side, if you really want to pick on the product, is the material does make a bit of a rustle sound and may feel wobbly when you first sit on it (it’s afterall, an inflatable seat). Once one settles on it, there’s no issue at all. Of course the feel under your butt would not feel the same as sitting on a solid kapok or husk filled cushion, but this is clearly a lot more portable and light weight. Great for bringing it in and out countries/states with strict border quarantine rules.
