Wrong book in the set
I ordered the Portion Control for Weightloss (Purple Book) version and they sent me Bariatrics (Orange Book). I re-ordered and again, they sent the Bariatrics book again. Please note this product will not come with the Portion Control for Weightloss (Purple Book). The books arrive bent so you will need to stack a few books on top for a few days to flatten them out and then they will be back to normal. I returned one set of the two sets I ordered. Overall the product is nice and the meal plans are tasty. I just wish the correct book that is advertised came with the set because I am not a Bariatrics patient, I just want to lose 30 pounds.

Broken plate
I got a broken plate in this bundle. Looked like someone dropped a heavy corner on it. Very disappointed.

Melamine Plates and Bowl, Average Guide to Eating Healthier
The Portion Perfect Weightloss for Women Weight Loss Kit is a good visual means of helping women lose weight. The plate and bowl are designed to help give visual cues on how much one should put on their plates in order to lose weight, and the included recipe guide and weight loss plan is designed to help guide one through on how and what to eat to lose weight. While the kit is useful, I’m not sure if it’s worth the cost. The plate and bowl themselves are melamine “kids plates”. They are durable feeling and will withstand a drop, but ultimately are still kids plates and the markings will likely fade with use. The set also comes with two wine glasses, which are not pictured but are still quite nice.The real cost falls into the included weight loss book and guide. After reading through the book and guide, I wasn’t very impressed with the recipes, visual guides, and lazy calorie counts. The recipes are average at best, with several “hack recipes” such as Pistachio Blend (banana, pistachios, cottage cheese, honey, and cinnamon mixed together) or Bircher Muesli (rolled oats, milk, almonds, apple, yogurt, cinnamon, berries mixed together), to everyday recipes like pancakes, omelettes, and roast chicken. There were a couple of instances where I was confused with a recipe simply because I had no idea what an ingredient or two was such as the Ketjap Manis Sauce, Moroccan Spice Paste, and Ryvita Biscuits – is the Moroccan Spice Paste supposed to be Harissa…Chermoula…Ras El Hanout? The recipes that really got me were the flat out lazy ones such as the “Jarls-Wich”, which is literally a single tomato slice sandwiched between two slices of Jarlsberg cheese. As for the “guide book”, it’s very very broad when giving calorie counts. Sushi is listed as being between 350-550 calories each, but pictures two different types of sushi, one of which is a California Roll which includes a ton of mayo. Similarly, it notates that all chunky or starchy soups are around 200 calories, milkshakes are around 100 calories, and so forth. These are by measurements, but this again is very broad – a bacon potato soup is not the same as a chunky chicken noodle soup for example. Regardless, the information presented is nothing new, and I feel that for the cost, the dishware should’ve been more substantial, the recipe guide could’ve been more creative, and the overall set is overpriced for what you get.
